🖐️ Lesson: Type JKL;

JKL; uses the four main right-hand home-row fingers: J with your right index finger,K with your right middle finger,L with your right ring finger,and ; with your right pinky finger. These exercises build your right-hand coordination and muscle memory from simple movements to longer JKL; patterns. Keep your eyes on the text above,not on your hands.

How to Type JKL; Correctly

The letters J,K,L,and ; are the four main right-hand home-row anchor keys used in touch typing. Press J with your right index finger,K with your right middle finger,L with your right ring finger,and ; with your right pinky finger.

Keep your right hand relaxed on the home row and allow each finger to return to its natural position after pressing a key. The raised mark on the J key can help you locate the home-row position without looking down.

This lesson uses five progressive drills. You begin by moving across the four home-row keys,then practice two-key combinations,three-key patterns,complete four-key sequences,and finally longer repeated patterns. Focus on accuracy and consistent finger movement before trying to increase your speed.

Which fingers type JKL;?

Your right index finger types J,your right middle finger types K,your right ring finger types L,and your right pinky types the semicolon key. These four fingers should remain relaxed and return to their home-row positions after each keystroke.

Why practice JKL; together?

JKL; is the foundation of the right-hand home row. Practicing these four keys together develops finger independence,coordination,accuracy,and muscle memory before you move on to more advanced typing patterns.
