🖐️ Type the Letter E

E is typed with your left middle finger. Reach up from the D key to press E, then return your finger to its home-row position. These 4 exercises build the muscle memory you need to type E accurately without looking at the keyboard.

How to Type the Letter E Correctly

The letter E is a top-row key typed with your left middle finger. From the home row, your middle finger moves upward from D to E and then returns to D. Keep your other fingers positioned on A, S, and F while practicing.

This lesson uses four short drills — a single tap, a double tap, a triple tap, and a building rhythm from one to five letters — so your left middle finger learns the movement needed to reach E accurately and consistently.

Which finger types the letter E?

Your left middle finger. Start with your middle finger resting on D, move it upward to E, press the key, and return to the home row.

Is E a home-row key?

No. E is on the top row of a QWERTY keyboard. Your left middle finger reaches upward from D to type it.
