About the Ireland typing test
Dublin, Galway and the Cliffs of Moher, Celtic history, Saint Patrick and the Easter Rising. Shamrocks, stout and traditional music add an Irish lilt to your WPM test.
Words in this test come from Ireland: places such as Dublin, Cork and Galway; history including Celts, Druids and Saint; and everyday things like shamrock, harp and leprechaun. They are mixed with common English words, so every round is different. When time is up, enter your name and your certificate is issued with the Ireland flag, your net WPM, accuracy and proficiency level.

How your score is calculated
Every result follows the standard typing-test formulas, and the same numbers are printed on your certificate.
| Gross WPM | (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes |
| Net WPM | Gross WPM − (incorrect words ÷ minutes) |
| Accuracy | (keystrokes − incorrect keystrokes) ÷ keystrokes |
A character is any letter, number, punctuation mark or space you type; five characters count as one standard word. A word is incorrect if it does not match the passage exactly, including capital letters and punctuation. A mistake you correct with Backspace still counts against accuracy. Pasting is disabled, and the timer starts at your first keystroke and ends at exactly the test duration.
