About the New Zealand typing test
Auckland to Queenstown, Fiordland and Hobbiton, Maori history, the Treaty of Waitangi and Sir Edmund Hillary. Kiwis, pavlova and rugby make this a true Aotearoa typing test.
Words in this test come from New Zealand: places such as Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch; history including Maori, Aotearoa and Treaty; and everyday things like kiwi, fern and pavlova. They are mixed with common English words, so every round is different. When time is up, enter your name and your certificate is issued with the New Zealand flag, your net WPM, accuracy and proficiency level.

How your score is calculated
Every result follows the standard typing-test formulas, and the same numbers are printed on your certificate.
| Gross WPM | (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes |
| Net WPM | Gross WPM − (incorrect words ÷ minutes) |
| Accuracy | (keystrokes − incorrect keystrokes) ÷ keystrokes |
A character is any letter, number, punctuation mark or space you type; five characters count as one standard word. A word is incorrect if it does not match the passage exactly, including capital letters and punctuation. A mistake you correct with Backspace still counts against accuracy. Pasting is disabled, and the timer starts at your first keystroke and ends at exactly the test duration.
