About the Singapore typing test
Marina Bay, Sentosa and the Merlion, Stamford Raffles and independence in 1965, hawker centres and Gardens by the Bay. Chicken rice, laksa and kopi bring the Lion City to your keyboard.
Words in this test come from Singapore: places such as Orchard, Sentosa and Merlion; history including Temasek, Stamford and Raffles; and everyday things like hawker, chicken and rice. They are mixed with common English words, so every round is different. When time is up, enter your name and your certificate is issued with the Singapore flag, your net WPM, accuracy and proficiency level.

How your score is calculated
Every result follows the standard typing-test formulas, and the same numbers are printed on your certificate.
| Gross WPM | (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes |
| Net WPM | Gross WPM − (incorrect words ÷ minutes) |
| Accuracy | (keystrokes − incorrect keystrokes) ÷ keystrokes |
A character is any letter, number, punctuation mark or space you type; five characters count as one standard word. A word is incorrect if it does not match the passage exactly, including capital letters and punctuation. A mistake you correct with Backspace still counts against accuracy. Pasting is disabled, and the timer starts at your first keystroke and ends at exactly the test duration.
