About the South Africa typing test
Cape Town, Johannesburg and Kruger National Park, Table Mountain and Robben Island, Nelson Mandela and the rainbow nation. Braai, biltong and rugby bring South African spirit to your WPM test.
Words in this test come from South Africa: places such as Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban; history including Apartheid, Mandela and Tutu; and everyday things like braai, biltong and bobotie. They are mixed with common English words, so every round is different. When time is up, enter your name and your certificate is issued with the South Africa flag, your net WPM, accuracy and proficiency level.

How your score is calculated
Every result follows the standard typing-test formulas, and the same numbers are printed on your certificate.
| Gross WPM | (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes |
| Net WPM | Gross WPM − (incorrect words ÷ minutes) |
| Accuracy | (keystrokes − incorrect keystrokes) ÷ keystrokes |
A character is any letter, number, punctuation mark or space you type; five characters count as one standard word. A word is incorrect if it does not match the passage exactly, including capital letters and punctuation. A mistake you correct with Backspace still counts against accuracy. Pasting is disabled, and the timer starts at your first keystroke and ends at exactly the test duration.
